CutSizeGenie is a Shopify app for fashion and apparel e-commerce brands that unlocks revenue from out-of-stock sizes
using virtual inventory and size mapping. It improves size availability on Shopify product pages without theme edits.
Solutions
Alteration workflow: make virtual sizes operations-friendly.
Virtual inventory works only if ops has clarity. Here’s a clean, low-drama workflow
for warehouses that fulfil neighbouring sizes using tailoring/cut-size.
Ops identifies orders that contain virtual sizes using app logs / tags / internal view (as configured).
Goal: no manual guessing.
Step 2 — Pick the source size (jump size)
Warehouse picks the mapped source size from inventory (example: customer ordered S, source is M).
The mapping is deterministic and logged.
Step 3 — Alter / cut-size as per SOP
Follow your standard tailoring SOP (pattern rules, permissible adjustment limits, quality check).
If a style is not feasible, disable mapping for that style/category.
Step 4 — Pack & ship normally
Ship under the normal Shopify fulfilment process.
The customer experience remains standard: same PDP, same checkout, normal fulfilment status.
Step 5 — Track exceptions
Track exceptions (not feasible, damage, time delay, shortage) and refine:
mappings, thresholds, and caps.
